An international cooperation in precision psychiatry

On November 7, 2025, the Neuroscience and Mental Health Innovation Institute at Cardiff University hosted the annual meeting of the International Network for Precision Psychiatry (INPP).

Launched by Inserm in 2024, as a Thematic Cooperation Program (PCT), the INPP network strengthens international collaborations in precision psychiatry.

The network is coordinated by Marion Leboyer and Pierre-Michel Llorca, with support from Inserm’s International Affairs Office (Olivier Steffen, Laura Kliemann).

The joint doctoral projects presented were as follows:

  • France–Norway : “A multidimensional study of NK cells in schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and autism spectrum disorders”. Vincent Vieillard / Ole Andreassen / Maud Apavou.
  • France–Sweden : “Severe sepsis and septic shock in patients with severe mental illness”. Laurent Boyer / Jari Tiihonen / Yann Brousse.
  • France–United Kingdom : “Psychiatric immuno-genetic imaging”. Marion Leboyer / Neil Harrison / Jonathan Chabert.
  • France–Canada : “Impact of nitric oxide on mother–newborn brain synchrony (EEG hyperscanning)”. Renaud Jardri / Guillaume Dumas / Marine Gautier–Martins.

The INPP network paves the way for and complements PEPR PROPSY program, by promoting international training, translational approaches, and the development of biomarkers.
