Job description

As part of the implementation and monitoring of research projects (PHRC, ANR, therapeutic trials, etc.), a neuropsychologist position is available within Prof. Fakra’s department (University Psychiatry Center).

The research team currently consists of psychiatrists, a clinical research assistant, research nurses and two neuropsychologists. The position will involve constant interaction with this support unit.

The part of the activity related to the Schizophrenia Expert Center will take place at the CJCD (Short-Term Day Center) day hospital located near the research team and closely linked to this unit. The team works closely with the various psychiatric services in the sector (hospitalization units, mobile teams, mental health centers).

The part related to rehabilitation projects will take place at the CS2R: a day hospital specializing in the rehabilitation of psychotic disorders: annual somatic assessment, psychosocial rehabilitation.

General and specific duties of the position

The neuropsychologist performs the tasks assigned to them in the following areas:

  • Conducting neuropsychological assessments and experimental tasks as specified in the protocols (including leading a mediation group as part of a research protocol)
  • Conducting neuropsychological assessments within the Schizophrenia Expert Center, rating, interpreting, and drafting treatment recommendations in close collaboration with the psychiatrist
  • Assisting in the setup and conduct of studies
  • Assisting in the recruitment of study participants
  • Monitoring data
  • Participating in research meetings
  • Possibility of having to validate various training courses with our colleagues as part of the implementation of therapeutic trial projects (training courses fully covered, e-learning)

You will be mainly involved in the protocols of the Schizophrenia Expert Center in Saint-Etienne as well as in the French-Minds cohort. In addition, you will also be involved in the Motivasocial protocol, in particular the facilitation of therapeutic programs dedicated to the development of social skills in people with schizophrenia (Social Cognition and Interaction Training [SCIT], Positive Emotion Program for Schizophrenia [PEP]).

Prerequisites for the position

Clinical experience with patients suffering from psychiatric disorders (primarily schizophrenic disorders) and experience in the field of research would be appreciated.

Knowledge
  • Master’s degree in Psychology specializing in Neuropsychology
  • Knowledge of neuropsychology and psychopathology of psychiatric disorders (mainly psychotic)
  • Proficiency in cognitive testing and assessment batteries
