- Define the dimensions to be studied, the variables to be collected and bring them together in interoperable multimodal databases.
The main challenges in deploying precision psychiatry
- Explore the validity of these dimensions or homogeneous subgroups.
- Identify prognostic and stratification biomarkers.
- Better understand the underlying causes and mechanisms of psychiatric disorders.
- Develop therapeutic strategies targeting identified mechanisms and test on patients with specific subgroups/dimensions.
- Reduce stigmatization and misrepresentation.
- Create the biomedical pipeline for mental health and psychiatric illnesses, enabling validated innovations to be implemented in practice.

5 operational work packages (WP)
- WP 1: The creation of a new longitudinal cohort, “French Minds,” of 10,000 subjects (patients and controls), who will be comprehensively evaluated clinically, digitally, behaviorally and environmentally, using biological markers and brain imaging. The multimodal databases generated will extend pre-existing French cohorts, and will be analyzed using robust statistical machine learning tools.
A harmonized multimodal database will be created, grouping together phenotyped patients, in a comprehensive and systematic way.
- WP 2: Exploration of preclinical models, underlying mechanisms, causes and consequences of risk factors and candidate biomarkers.
- WP 3: Testing new therapeutic strategies such as e-health, immunomodulators, biotherapies and brain stimulation, in stratified patient subgroups.
- WP 4: Support through public-private partnerships and the development of the new French biomedical sector in mental health.
- WP 5: Attractiveness and training initiatives will be carried out to consolidate the new generation of scientists and caregivers in psychiatry. The results will be disseminated, while taking care to raise awareness among users and civil society.
The program also launches open calls to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and consolidate preliminary results.
