Summary

The overall objective of the T4MINDS project is to create and validate transnosographic Patient-Reported Experience Measures (PREMs) and Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs).

The transnosographic approach aims to describe mental illnesses, departing from traditional diagnostic classifications. It focuses on elements that may be variably present in all mental disorders.

These measures will be designed for universal application (i.e. for patients with different types of diagnosis) within the French Minds cohort, constituting a significant advance in mental health research and care. The transnosographic approach used is therefore of paramount importance, as it enables meaningful comparisons between various disorders, using a common metric. It provides an overview of therapeutic strategies and outcomes across the spectrum of mental disorders, enhancing the ability to personalize treatments and interventions.

This strategy facilitates a nuanced assessment of patients’ health and experiences, compared with those of the general population. It can also identify disparities and inequalities in the care and outcomes of patients with mental disorders. This knowledge is essential not only for the development of targeted interventions, but also for the elaboration of public policies aimed at reducing disparities and raising the overall quality of mental health care.
