Faced with the combined challenges of medical demographics and the increased prevalence of psychiatric disorders, the profession is mobilizing to encourage students and young interns to pursue careers in psychiatry and change perceptions of this essential discipline.

In this context, Choose Psychiatry campaign has taken on new meaning.
An unprecedented mobilization has taken place in medical schools: the Psychiatry Nights returned on Friday, January 30, 2026, throughout mainland France and overseas!

These meetings brought together students, interns, psychiatrists, researchers, nurses, and peer support workers for open and friendly discussions. The goal was to showcase psychiatry in a different light, share real-world experiences, pass on knowledge, and inspire new vocations.

The event helped to break down preconceived notions about a discipline that is sometimes perceived as static, by highlighting modern, scientific, and innovative psychiatry. Pharmacogenomics, epigenetics, neuroimaging, biomarkers, and research on immunity and inflammation are evidence of the rise of a forward-looking, precision-based psychiatry.

This edition demonstrated the vitality and central role of psychiatry in improving collective well-being. PEPR PROPSY is fully in line with this dynamic, aiming to enhance the appeal of the discipline and inspire new generations.

A big thank you to the psychiatrists at the Expert Centers in Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Paris, Clermont-Ferrand, Grenoble, Besançon, and Dijon!
