City Hall of the 11th Arrondissement, Paris

On March 19, 2026, as part of Brain Awareness Week, Ariel Frajerman attended a roundtable discussion titled “Young People: A Sense of Unwellness That Goes Unheard” at the City Hall of Paris’s 11th Arrondissement.

Organized by Inserm, this event brought together experts committed to addressing mental health issues among young people:

  • Prof. Olivier Bonnot, child psychiatrist at Barthélémy-Durand Hospital and researcher at CESP
  • Camille Davisse-Paturet, Inserm researcher in social epidemiology, mental health, and addiction
  • Helno Eyriey, President of the Group of Student Organizations and Youth Movements at the CESE

At the heart of the discussions:

  • Prevalence data, particularly from Santé publique France surveys
  • Risk factors for psychiatric disorders (childhood trauma, gender-based and sexual violence, cyberbullying, loneliness, precarious living conditions, etc.)
  • The need to continue and strengthen investment in research

This discussion highlighted the urgent need to listen to and support young people facing a form of distress that is often silent but deeply real.
