This event, organized by the FondaMental Fondation, the Faculty of Medical and Paramedical Sciences of Aix Marseille University, the NeuroMarseille institutional institute, Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Marseille, and the EuroBiomed competitiveness cluster, in partnership with PEPR PROPSY, will bring together researchers, clinicians, public decision-makers, service users, and economic stakeholders to discuss the major developments shaping psychiatry.
This meeting will provide unique insight into an integrated model combining specialized clinical care, scientific research, and technological innovation in the service of more precise, more effective psychiatry that is better adapted to patients’ needs: precision psychiatry.
It will highlight a major paradigm shift based on a more personalized and collaborative approach. The day will also place strong emphasis on innovation, with presentations of research projects and start-up pitch sessions, illustrating the convergence of research, technology, and entrepreneurship.
A Care Model Undergoing Major Transformation
The morning session will focus on the role of Expert Centers in the organization of care.
Speakers will offer institutional, clinical, and patient perspectives to illustrate how this model fits into the care pathway at the national level.
The objective is clear: to offer a more personalized, more effective, and better coordinated approach to psychiatry.
Research and Precision Psychiatry at the Heart of the Program
The second part of the morning will be devoted to research.
Expert Centers are now emerging as key players in the development of precision psychiatry, an approach that aims to tailor treatments to the biological, clinical, and environmental characteristics of each patient.
Several projects will be presented, particularly in the areas of:
- biomarkers in psychiatry,
- neurodevelopmental disorders,
- and new pharmacological approaches.
This work is part of an ambitious national strategy supported by PEPR PROPSY, which promotes innovative research integrating genomics, brain imaging, computational neuroscience, and artificial intelligence.
Technological Innovation and Industrial Collaboration
The afternoon session will focus on innovation and collaboration.
Start-ups, biotechnology companies, and digital technology specialists will present their solutions.
This openness to the technological ecosystem reflects a strong trend: psychiatry is becoming a major field of innovation, where medical research, digital technologies, and societal challenges converge.
An Event at the Crossroads of Scientific and Societal Challenges
Beyond its scientific program, this day aims to strengthen connections between research, clinical practice, and innovation. It reflects a profound transformation of the field, driven by the desire to individualize care and better understand the mechanisms of psychiatric disorders.
By bringing together researchers, clinicians, patients, and industry leaders, this Marseille event stands out as a key moment for shaping the psychiatry of tomorrow.
