Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovations in Psychiatry: Challenges, Advances, and Prospects

The PEPR PROPSY, jointly led by Inserm and the CNRS, with the support of the Fondation FondaMental, is organizing PsyTech 2026, an event dedicated to artificial intelligence and digital innovations in psychiatry. The event is held under the High Patronage of His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, and with the patronage of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the French Ministry of Health, Families, Autonomy and Disability, and the Hauts-de-France Regional Council.

Organized in partnership with the PEPR Digital Health program, this event will explore the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation for Psychiatry: Challenges, Advances, and Future Perspectives”. It will bring together leading representatives from government, academia, and industry to foster an innovation ecosystem for psychiatry through strategic partnerships and cross-sector collaboration.

It will also serve as a catalyst for the opportunities offered by recent scientific advances as well as the obstacles to be overcome. These issues will be addressed in a white paper.

On the agenda for the day:

  • Roundtable discussion on strategies for structuring the sector, featuring institutional leaders, elected officials, and European representatives
  • Presentation of findings from thematic workshops: data and digital phenotyping, artificial intelligence and clinical development, implementation and scaling up
  • Presentation of key takeaways from the white paper and a call to action
  • Startup pitches
  • “Flash” meetings between industry representatives, third-party venues, and academic stakeholders
  • Closing remarks by Mr. Xavier Bertrand, President of the Hauts-de-France Region

This event offers a unique opportunity for dialogue among decision-makers, researchers, clinicians, industry representatives, and advocates for those affected, with the aim of collectively advancing the innovation ecosystem in psychiatry.
