Highlights from the 2026 PEPR PROPSY Annual Meeting – Day 2️⃣
April 2nd at Inserm

This second day continued discussions on the impact of precision psychiatry and the transformations expected by 2030.

The morning opened with a presentation of the PEPR PROPSY International Scientific Advisory Board’s recommendations by Marion Leboyer, highlighting key challenges in structuring the program and its scientific ambitions.

The day was then organized around several major thematic sessions:

The issue of treatment resistance opened the discussions. This session, chaired by Lionel Da Cruz, featured a clinical perspective on definitions by Antoine Yrondi and an overview of associated pharmacological mechanisms by Boris Chaumette, illustrating the complexity of therapeutic pathways in psychiatry.

Discussions then turned to somatic comorbidities, addressing both their epidemiological impact, presented by Laurent Boyer, and advances in understanding underlying mechanisms and innovative care approaches, presented by Ophelia Godin. These exchanges emphasized the importance of an integrated approach to mental and physical health.

The afternoon continued with a session on the medico-economic impact of PEPR PROPSY innovations, presented by Isabelle Durand-Zaleski, highlighting key challenges related to evaluation and sustainability.

This was followed by a session on biomarkers supporting diagnosis and treatment, chaired by Etienne Thevenot: metabolomics with Ariel Frajerman, brain imaging with Charles Laïdi, and electrophysiology with Anton Iftimovici—illustrating the diversity of approaches within precision psychiatry.

The final session focused on reshaping psychiatric nosology in the context of precision psychiatry, chaired by Frank Bellivier.

Speakers highlighted several key dimensions:

  • Impulsivity and suicidal behaviors, with Aiste Lengvenyte
  • Cognitive flexibility, with Corentin Gosling
  • Sensory abnormalities, with Anouck Amestoy
  • Neurodevelopment, with Antoine Lefrere
  • Sleep disorders, with Pierre Alexis Geoffroy

All of these contributions underscored the importance of rethinking diagnostic frameworks based on cross-cutting dimensions.

Overall, this second day showcased the richness of approaches in precision psychiatry, bridging fundamental research, clinical practice, and public health, in support of a sustainable transformation of psychiatric care. It also opened the door to new hypotheses and approaches that will be further developed within PEPR PROPSY.
